Bengkalis Regent leads 2026 National Transportation Day ceremony

Bengkalis Regent Kasmarni led the 2026 National Transportation Day (Harhubnas) ceremony at the Bengkalis Regent's Office on September 17, 2026. During the event, Kasmarni read a written speech from the Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, which focused on the theme ‘Connecting Indonesia for a More Advanced Future.’

A central message of the ceremony was the prioritization of transportation safety, which Kasmarni described as a ‘moral responsibility’ rather than a mere administrative requirement. The speech emphasized that safety standards must be actively implemented in the field, especially when facing challenges such as forest fires, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, flight disruptions, and maritime accidents.

In addition to safety, the government highlighted the importance of regional connectivity to link production centers with markets and residential areas, thereby reducing logistics costs. The ceremony also touched upon the necessity of digital transformation in the transportation sector to enhance transparency, oversight, and compliance through technology.
