Bengkulu Tengah seeks independent PLN service unit

The Bengkulu Tengah Regency Government is working to establish its own PLN Customer Service Unit (ULP) to improve local electricity services. Currently, the region relies on three other service areas.

Bupati Rachmat Riyanto stated that the possibility of establishing a dedicated unit is currently at 50:50. This uncertainty is due to a nationwide moratorium on the construction of new PLN service units implemented by PLN through 2026. However, the local government remains optimistic that the opportunity will reopen in 2027 once the moratorium ends.
