Beni: ADF ambush burns motorcycle and cocoa on Eringeti-Kainama axis

An ambush attributed to ADF fighters occurred on the Eringeti-Kainama road in the Beni-Mbau sector of North Kivu on Friday, September 11, 2026. The attack, which took place around 11:00 a.m. local time, resulted in the burning of a motorcycle and a bag of cocoa.

The driver of the motorcycle managed to escape the incident. Kambale Kamabu Héritier, secretary rapporteur for the organization Action for Peace, Defense of Human Rights and Integral Development (APDDHDI), reported that the attack caused significant material damage.

Following the incident, the APDDHDI has urged travelers and local farmers in areas such as Mukondi, Bangole, Sekam, Mukedi, and Kembi to remain vigilant. Authorities are being encouraged to report any suspicious activity to security services, as the attack has raised renewed concerns regarding safety and agricultural activities along this route, which had previously experienced a period of calm.
