Beni Rae Harmony appointed as White House Assistant Press Secretary
Beni Rae Harmony, a 24-year-old former reporter and White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice, has been appointed as an Assistant Press Secretary for the Trump administration. The hire comes as the White House continues to fill communications roles following the departure of former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Harmony’s background includes roles as a producer for Turning Point USA and as an aide for Republican figures Paul Gosar and Matt Gaetz. Her appointment has drawn scrutiny due to a 2021 photograph in which she posed with a rifle while wearing a shirt that read “Fuck Joe Biden.” The White House has defended the hire, with spokesperson Anna Kelly describing Harmony as a “trusted voice for the MAGA movement.”
Prior to her role at Real America’s Voice, Harmony worked as a news anchor at WICS-ABC20 in Springfield, Illinois. She reportedly joined the conservative network after being suspended from her previous position for delivering an on-air tribute to the late conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
