Benicarló and Anoia announce local community programs and subsidies

The Benicarló City Council has launched a new edition of its Municipal School Sports Campaign for the 2026-2027 academic year. The initiative offers 710 places to promote healthy habits among local students. Activities include psychomotricity, multi-sports (athletics, basketball, football, and handball), dance, aikido, and chess. Most places are allocated to Infant and Primary Education centers, while dance and aikido sessions will be held at the Municipal Polysportive Pavilion.

Pre-registration is open from September 1 to September 20 via the eAgora application. If demand exceeds capacity, places will be assigned via a lottery. The program is scheduled to run from October 5, 2026, to May 28, 2027.

Separately, the Consell Comarcal de l'Anoia has opened the application period for individual adapted transport subsidies for 2026. These grants aim to assist people with reduced mobility and elderly individuals with dementia in accessing specialized public daytime social services. Eligible applicants must reside in Anoia municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. Subsidies can cover up to 50% of justified expenses, with maximum annual amounts of 600 euros for private vehicle use and 1,100 euros for public or collective transport services. Applications are accepted from August 31 to September 18, 2026.
