Benidorm awards municipal camping concession to newly formed company
The Benidorm City Council has awarded a ten-year concession for the Séquia Mare municipal camping and youth leisure space to Traokoaventuras MB SL. Records from the Mercantile Registry indicate that the company, along with its parent company Nexo Troko SL, was incorporated on August 21, 2026, just ten days before the deadline for tender submissions expired.
Traokoaventuras MB SL presented the lowest economic bid of the three competing companies, proposing an investment of 15,826 euros. This was significantly lower than the 200,000 euros committed by the second-place bidder, Camping Navalmar SL. Despite the lower financial offer, the winning company secured the contract due to the scoring system, where technical merits accounted for 90% of the total score compared to only 10% for economic criteria.
An expert committee report noted that the winning bidder lacked “any verifiable reference of previous management of a youth hostel or equivalent camping area.” The companies involved are based in La Nucía, a municipality where the local mayor is a prominent figure in the People's Party (PP) of Alicante.
