Benidorm Council launches 10‑year concession for youth hostel and campsite

The Benidorm City Council approved a tender to award a ten‑year concession for the management of the youth hostel, the camping area and the bar‑restaurant in Parque de la Séquia Mare. The municipal plenary voted in favour of the contract with backing from the PP and Vox parties and an abstention from the PSOE.

Councilor for Procurement Aida García Mayor explained that the concession will be awarded without a fee, transferring operational risk to the successful bidder. Proposals must demonstrate proven experience in youth‑focused activities, with technical criteria accounting for up to 90 points of the evaluation and the remaining ten points covering the economic offer. The contract includes responsibilities for accommodation, catering, educational and leisure programmes, digital monitoring tools, safety and sustainability measures, and oversight of the park’s interpretation centre.

The same session also approved updates to the municipal forest‑fire risk plan and the municipal emergency territorial plan, incorporating recommendations from the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response.
