Benidorm Fest 2027 dates announced amid potential Eurovision boycott

The sixth edition of Benidorm Fest is scheduled to take place from January 23 to January 30, 2027. The festival will return to its traditional late-January dates, featuring semifinals on January 26 and 28, with the grand final held on January 30 at the Palau d'Esports L'Illa.

Despite the festival's schedule, the RTVE president, José Pablo López, has announced plans to propose a continued suspension of Spain's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest for 2027. This decision stems from ethical concerns regarding the presence of an Israeli delegation amidst the conflict in Gaza. Consequently, the 2027 Benidorm Fest will proceed as an independent musical event, decoupled from the Eurovision selection process for the second consecutive year.

Ticket sales for the event are expected to begin in November. The festival, organized by RTVE in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana and the Benidorm City Council, aims to consolidate itself as a major independent music competition.
