Benidorm opens nominations for Exemplary Neighbor Award
The Benidorm Neighborhood Council, supported by the Department of Citizen Participation, has opened the nomination period for the 2026 Exemplary Neighbor Award. This recognition aims to honor residents whose life trajectories, behavior, and commitment to others serve as models of coexistence and citizenship.
Ana Pellicer, the Councilor for Citizen Participation, announced that the nomination period will remain open until October 2. Any citizen, local association, or entity in Benidorm may propose a candidate. The award is unique because it originates from civil society, providing an opportunity to highlight individuals who contribute to the city's well-being through personal, civic, and ethical values.
To encourage broad participation, the City Council has sent letters to local associations urging them to promote candidates. Proposals must be endorsed by the signatures of three individuals or a legal entity and must include a text detailing the candidate's merits. Applications can be registered at the offices of the Neighborhood Council or the Department of Citizen Participation.
