Benidorm PSOE demands clarity on new EOI headquarters project

The PSOE municipal group in Benidorm has called on Mayor Toni Pérez to clarify the status of the project to build a new Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (EOI) headquarters. The opposition highlights that although the mayor announced the recovery of the project and the process of transferring a municipal plot to the Generalitat Valenciana in 2022, there has been no progress in the four years since.

Socialist spokesperson Sergi Castillo criticized the current administration for a lack of follow-up, stating that the project remains in an administrative limbo. He noted that the current EOI facilities are obsolete, overcrowded, and share a building with UNED, which limits the expansion of educational offerings. Residents remain uncertain if the designated plot meets the necessary requirements for construction.
