Benidorm to pilot smart platform for taxi license management
Benidorm will host a pilot project by the Generalitat Valenciana called ‘QIMOB para Taxi’ to modernize the management of the city's 232 taxi licenses. The initiative uses real-time data analysis to study service patterns and help authorities adjust vehicle availability to meet the needs of residents and tourists.
The tool includes a professional application for drivers that requires minimal interaction, a system for analyzing routes and times, and a dashboard featuring maps and alerts. This data will allow taxi drivers, associations, and public administrations to monitor occupancy, historical stop data, and activity levels per license.
Local officials, including Mobility Councilor Francis Muñoz, stated that the precise data will allow the service to be modulated based on demand, improving organization and the efficient use of available vehicles.
