Benin-Agbor Bypass protesters demand urgent road repairs
Protesters and commuters have taken to the Benin-Agbor Bypass in Edo State to demand urgent repairs to the dilapidated road. The poor condition of the route has caused severe traffic gridlock, with some travelers reporting being stuck for up to 12 hours. The congestion is attributed to broken portions of the road that force trucks, buses, and other vehicles to attempt difficult maneuvers through unavailable outlets.
During the protests, residents called on the federal government and President Tinubu to prioritize road infrastructure over financial aid. While the Edo State Government has recently announced plans to rehabilitate other local routes, such as Okhun Road, following approvals from Governor Monday Okpebholo, residents at the bypass continue to face significant hardship due to the current state of the intersection.
