Benin and France commit 65.5 billion FCFA to development projects
Benin and France have formalized a series of financial commitments totaling 65.5 billion FCFA to support structural development projects. The agreements, announced at the Élysée on October 5, 2026, were mobilized with the assistance of French and European partners.
The funding is designated for three priority sectors: electricity, agriculture, and health. Investments in the electricity sector aim to strengthen infrastructure and production capacity to meet the growing needs of households and businesses. The agricultural sector, a primary driver of the Beninese economy and employment, is also a central focus of the partnership.
