Benin coach reports denied contact with Messi after final match

Benin national football team coach Gernot Rohr has expressed disappointment following his team’s 3-0 defeat against Argentina in Lionel Messi’s final international match. Played at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires, the event marked the conclusion of Messi’s career with the Albiceleste, where he recorded 208 selections and 126 goals.

Despite the historic nature of the match, Rohr reported that the Beninese players were unable to secure typical post-match mementos. According to the coach, security measures prevented the players from exchanging jerseys or taking photographs with Messi. Rohr noted that while the players had brought jerseys for exchange, they were blocked from entering the players' tunnel.

The only souvenir obtained was a signed 2018 Argentina jersey, which Messi autographed for Rohr after the Argentine coach requested assistance from manager Lionel Scaloni.
