Benin defeats Algeria in AirBadminton African Championships opener

Benin secured a decisive victory over Algeria with a score of 60-37 in their opening team relay match at the AirBadminton African Championships. The competition took place on Wednesday, September 16, in Entebbe, Uganda.

The Beninese team established early dominance across multiple categories. In the men's doubles, Oswald Fano-Dosh and Carlos Miguel Kpanou won 15-11. The women's doubles pair of Gladys Akakpo and Flora Kpogbemabou followed with a strong performance, bringing the cumulative score to 30-17. Although Algeria attempted a comeback in the men's triples, the trio of Carlos Miguel Kpanou, Oswald Fano-Dosh, and Julien Totin maintained the lead. The victory was finalized by the women's trio of Gladys Akakpo, Blessing Atchade, and Flora Kpogbemabou.

This win places Benin at the top of Group A, which also includes Tunisia.
