Benito Orozco qualifies for 2027 World Triathlon Championship

Benito Orozco Carro, a sports coach and promoter for the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), has qualified for the 2027 World Triathlon Championship in Hamburg, Germany.

Orozco Carro, 57, secured his spot by winning first place in the Men's Sprint category for ages 55 to 59 at the Valle de Bravo Triathlon. This achievement marks his third qualification for a World Championship within his age category.

The athlete attributed his success to two months of intensive training and the support of his family and friends. He expressed pride in representing Mexico, the State of Mexico, and UAEMéx on a global stage. The Valle de Bravo competition, which returned after a six-year hiatus due to low reservoir levels, featured 12 competitors in his specific category.
