Benjamin Azariah Southworth arrested for threatening to kill Donald Trump
Benjamin Azariah Southworth, a 40-year-old Los Angeles-based podcaster and former Christian television personality, was arrested on September 3, 2026, following a federal grand jury indictment. He faces three federal charges: threats against the president, cyberstalking, and harassing telephone calls in interstate communications.
Prosecutors allege that between January and May 2026, Southworth used various social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as his website 'holymenace.com', to express hatred toward Donald Trump and his supporters. The indictment claims he posted videos explicitly calling for the assassination of the president and simulated a knife attack against him in a video.
Additionally, Southworth is accused of cyberstalking Trump’s personal attorney, Jay Sekulow, and his family. This allegedly included 'doxxing' by publishing Sekulow’s home address and phone number, as well as making numerous harassing telephone calls and leaving abusive voicemails for the attorney’s wife and son. If convicted on all counts, Southworth faces a maximum of 12 years in federal prison.
