Benjamin Azariah Southworth arrested for threatening President Trump

Benjamin Azariah Southworth, a 40-year-old resident of the Westlake neighborhood in Los Angeles, has been arrested following a federal grand jury indictment. He faces three counts, including threatening to kill President Donald Trump, cyberstalking the President’s personal lawyer, and making harassing telephone calls.

Federal prosecutors allege that between January and May, Southworth used platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and a personal website to post threats and encourage harassment. This included posting the personal address of the President’s lawyer with the caption “No peace for traitors” and explicitly calling to “Kill Donald Trump.” The indictment also alleges he sent abusive messages and calls to the lawyer’s wife and son.

Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that the Department of Justice will respond with the “full force of the law” to hold perpetrators of violent threats accountable. Southworth has pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted, he faces a potential statutory maximum of up to 12 years in federal prison.
