Benjamin Castaldi discusses past excesses and lifestyle changes

French television presenter Benjamin Castaldi has spoken candidly about his past lifestyle, including his history with alcohol and drug use. Castaldi noted that he has adopted a more disciplined approach to his health, resulting in significant weight loss. He described himself as having an excessive temperament, stating that if he begins drinking, he struggles to stop, which has led him to prefer limiting social occasions altogether.

Regarding drug use, Castaldi admitted to having experimented with substances in the past but maintained that these experiences were occasional and not driven by self-destruction. He also commented on the culture of drug use within the entertainment industry, referencing the Pierre Palmade case. Castaldi suggested that drug use in showbiz is a “secret de polichinelle” (open secret) and noted that he had attended parties with Palmade many years ago.

Currently, Castaldi is spending time on vacation in the Var region near Lake Sainte-Croix, opting for a more tranquil lifestyle away from the intensity of Parisian media life.
