Benjamin Fields faces federal detention request over Houston robbery charges
Federal prosecutors are seeking to detain Benjamin Fields, known as NBA Ben 10, following a grand jury indictment in Texas. Fields faces charges of aiding and abetting a Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during the incident.
The charges stem from an April confrontation at a Houston restaurant involving rapper All-Star Jr. Prosecutors allege that during the dispute, Fields and his associates attempted to steal jewelry and used a pistol to threaten the victim. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathan Munsell argued in a detention memorandum that Fields poses a “grave danger to the community” and that his social media activity involving firearms further justifies his detention.
Court documents from Pretrial Services have also drawn public attention, characterizing Fields as a self-employed rapper with no steady income who “drifts house-to-house.” The filings also noted a history of non-prescription drug use. Meanwhile, OG 3Three was also recently arrested in connection to related incidents involving the same parties.
