Netanyahu demands criminal probe into ‘NAZA’ documentary participants

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for a criminal investigation and prosecution of the participants in the documentary ‘NAZA’. In a formal request directed to the IDF Chief of Staff, the head of Shin Bet, and the Attorney General, Netanyahu alleged that the film’s creators and sources committed serious information security offenses, criminal defamation, and harmed Israel’s diplomatic and security interests.

The documentary features anonymous testimonies from 24 Israeli military and intelligence officials. It alleges that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) used artificial intelligence and intelligence systems in ways that contributed to civilian deaths in Gaza and that the military permitted large numbers of civilian casualties during operations against Hamas.

Netanyahu’s office characterized the film as being ‘riddled with falsehoods, distortions, deception, and manipulation,’ asserting that it presents a false narrative that damages Israel’s international standing.
