Benjamin Pavard has returned to Inter Milan following a difficult loan spell at Olympique de Marseille during the 2025-2026 season. After failing to establish himself as a leader in France, which impacted his chances for the 2026 World Cup, the 30-year-old defender is showing strong form during Inter Milan's pre-season.

Pavard has featured prominently in recent friendly matches, including scoring a goal against Manchester City. While Inter Milan had initially considered selling him to reduce the wage bill—particularly after the club's pursuit of Cristian Romero ended with the Argentine signing for Atlético Madrid—Pavard is no longer on the transfer list.
