Benjamin Pavard's Future at Inter Milan Hangs in Balance

Benjamin Pavard returned to Inter Milan after a loan spell at Olympique de Marseille, where the French defender failed to secure a permanent move, with Marseille declining a €15 million purchase option. Pavard remains under contract with Inter until June 2028 and commands a salary of about €5 million per year.

Inter have recently let several defenders (Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian and Milan Škriniar) leave as their contracts expired, creating space in the back line and prompting a need to trim the wage bill. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pavard has shown a more determined attitude, suggesting a possible change in the club’s view. Inter have indicated that he will not be loaned out again, leaving the options of retaining him or selling him outright.

The situation remains open, with the club weighing the defender’s renewed motivation against financial considerations as the transfer window approaches.
