Benjamin Sesko withdraws from Slovenia squad with shin injury
Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has withdrawn from the Slovenia national team ahead of their UEFA Nations League fixtures due to a recurring shin injury. The 23-year-old reported feeling pain following a Carabao Cup match against Brighton and was subsequently absent from United’s recent Premier League fixture against Fulham.
Sesko is scheduled to undergo medical assessments, including an MRI, to determine the extent of the injury and establish an individual rehabilitation plan. The injury is noted as a recurrence of a problem that sidelined him during the end of the previous season and throughout the recent pre-season period.
In addition to Sesko, Manchester United is facing several international absences, with Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo also withdrawing from the England squad due to injury, and goalkeeper Karl Darlow pulling out of the Wales squad. Sesko expressed his regret on social media, stating, “I am very sorry that I will have to miss the national team’s upcoming matches,” while emphasizing his commitment to a full recovery.
