Liverpool targets Genk goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans

Liverpool FC has reached a verbal agreement with KRC Genk to sign 18-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans in a deal valued at approximately €35 million. The 2.00m-tall prospect is currently undergoing medical tests as a precaution.

The timing of the transfer is closely linked to the future of Liverpool's current second-choice goalkeeper, Giorgi Mamardashvili. With Nottingham Forest showing strong interest in the Georgian international, Liverpool is evaluating whether to sign Brughmans immediately or arrange for him to join the squad in the summer of 2027. If Mamardashvili departs, Brughmans may move sooner; otherwise, he could remain at Genk on loan for another season.

Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested in the highly-rated talent, who is considered a significant long-term prospect for the English club.
