Benjamin Ward proposes to partner after 96-mile charity hike

Benjamin Ward, a 44-year-old from Falkirk, proposed to his partner, Natasha Goldthorpe, after completing a 96-mile charity hike along the West Highland Way in 36 hours and 48 minutes.

The continuous trek was undertaken in memory of Ms. Goldthorpe’s 13-year-old son, Liam, who passed away last October following a battle with BPAN, a rare progressive neurological disorder. Mr. Ward completed the challenge to raise funds for Together for Short Lives, a charity that supported the family.

This follows a previous hiking challenge Mr. Ward completed last August to benefit Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, an event during which Ms. Goldthorpe expressed her feelings for him.
