Benjamín Gil appointed manager of Diablos Rojos del México

The Diablos Rojos del México have officially named Benjamín Gil as their new manager for the 2027 Mexican Baseball League (LMB) season. Gil, a former Major League Baseball player with a 21-year professional career including a World Series title with the Los Angeles Angels in 2002, most recently managed the Charros de Jalisco.

His appointment follows the transition of Lorenzo Bundy, who will move into a sporting management advisory role within the organization. Gil’s arrival has sparked mixed reactions among fans due to past controversial statements regarding the team and its supporters. In response to these tensions, Gil has issued a public apology to the fanbase as he begins his tenure.
