Benjamín Urdapilleta sets French professional rugby scoring record

Argentine fly-half Benjamín Urdapilleta has become the highest points scorer in the professional era of the French rugby championship. At 40 years old, playing for USAP, Urdapilleta surpassed the previous record of 2,612 points held by Romain Teulet during a match against Racing 92 in Créteil.

Urdapilleta reached the milestone in the 27th minute of the match by successfully converting a try. His career in France includes significant stints with Oyonnax, Castres, and Clermont. While he achieved the professional era record, his team, USAP, lost the match 55-25. The all-format record of 3,015 points held by Richard Dourthe remains the next major milestone.
