Benny Gantz says Gaza withdrawal will take years

Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz stated that a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip will take years and is contingent upon meeting all of Israel’s demands. This position diverges from the withdrawal timeline outlined in the Trump administration's plan, which includes a phased military withdrawal alongside the disarmament of factions and the establishment of an international stability force.

Gantz asserted that Hamas remains resilient despite three years of conflict, claiming the group maintains a force of approximately 30,000 armed members. He criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claims regarding the total destruction of the group, promising that a government under his leadership would dismantle or eliminate Hamas. Additionally, Gantz noted that an immediate political solution for the West Bank is unlikely.
