Shakhtar Donetsk to play Champions League home games at Stamford Bridge

Shakhtar Donetsk has reached an agreement to play its UEFA Champions League home matches at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge stadium for the 2026/27 season. The arrangement, which is subject to regulatory approval from UEFA, will allow the Ukrainian club to host at least four home games in the competition's league phase.

Due to the ongoing Russian military invasion and security concerns, Shakhtar has been unable to play at its home ground, the Donbas Arena, since 2014. The club has previously hosted European fixtures in various countries, including Poland, Germany, and Slovenia.

Chelsea, which did not qualify for European competition this season, will assist with matchday logistics to ensure safety and smooth operations for the Ukrainian side and its supporters. Shakhtar described the move to the historic London venue as a “special opportunity” and expressed gratitude to Chelsea for the support.
