Napoli signs Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile on loan

Napoli has officially completed the signing of French defender Benoit Badiashile from Chelsea on a season-long loan. The deal includes an option to purchase the 25-year-old player permanently, with reports citing a potential fee of approximately €27 million.

Badiashile, who joined Chelsea from Monaco in early 2023, has struggled to secure a consistent starting role in London due to various physical issues and injuries. His move to Italy is intended to provide him with more playing time and a chance to rebuild his form under Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri.

For Napoli, the acquisition serves to strengthen a defensive line currently facing depth challenges due to injuries to other players. The defender has already passed his medical examinations, including precautionary cardiological checks, and has joined the first-team squad in Naples.
