Benoît Poelvoorde discusses role in new film Fausse Note
Belgian actor Benoît Poelvoorde has shared details regarding his unconventional preparation for his role in the upcoming film ‘Fausse Note’, directed by Alexandre Arcady. During a promotional appearance on RTL Soir with Anne-Sophie Lapix, the 62-year-old actor admitted to improvising his performance to overcome his anxiety and lack of experience with conducting.
Poelvoorde revealed that to help embody the character of a renowned conductor, he turned to alcohol, stating, “I drank a pastis! And I had a second one. There, I went like a shot.” He noted that the movements he performed in the film did not strictly follow the technical training he received, admitting that he “sinned” when it came to accurately portraying the profession.
The film, described as a drama, is scheduled for release on October 7. It follows a famous conductor who is confronted by an increasingly persistent admirer.
