Bentley announces Torcal, its first all-electric SUV

Bentley has announced the Torcal, its first fully electric SUV, which is set to become the most powerful and fastest-accelerating production model in the brand’s history. The vehicle is scheduled for a full unveiling in London on September 23, with sales expected to begin around 2027 or 2028.

Technical details indicate the Torcal will utilize an 800-volt architecture and a 113 kWh battery, sharing a platform with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. The dual-motor setup is expected to deliver over 838 to 850 horsepower and approximately 1,000 Nm of torque, enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in under three seconds. The vehicle aims for a WLTP driving range of roughly 600 km and supports ultra-fast DC charging, capable of adding significant range in minutes.

Despite these high-performance figures, Bentley emphasizes that the Torcal is engineered to prioritize luxury and comfort. The company aims to translate its historical legacy of effortless torque and smooth power delivery into the electric era, ensuring that acceleration remains progressive and refined rather than violent. The interior will feature a new curved display and a 'Curation Engine' to manage cabin settings like lighting and climate across different driving modes.
