Bentley Continental GTC maintenance costs highlight luxury car risks

A YouTuber, ThelogbookUK, has highlighted the high maintenance costs associated with owning a used Bentley Continental GTC. Despite the vehicle's attractive price point compared to new models, a recent routine service and minor repairs resulted in a bill totaling approximately £1,200 (roughly $1,600 or €1,400).

The costs included a standard annual service of about $479, alongside additional work for a fuel filler neck drain cleaning, underbody pipework, and a noise test. The owner noted that while he felt he ‘got away with it’ given the car's previous issues, the expense was significant for relatively simple tasks.

Experts and commentators, including former Top Gear presenter James May, suggest that owners often miscalculate the reality of aging luxury vehicles. The Continental GTC experiences rapid depreciation, losing roughly 20 percent of its value in the first year and up to 35 percent after two years, while maintenance costs tend to escalate as the vehicle ages.
