Bentley develops Supersports Convertible and limited-run models

Bentley is expanding its high-performance Supersports line with the development of a new Continental Supersports Convertible. Spy photos of a prototype testing near the Nürburgring reveal a vehicle featuring a retractable fabric roof, specialized aerodynamic elements including a pronounced spoiler and extractor, and carbon-ceramic brakes. The convertible is expected to utilize a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 675 CV and 800 Nm of torque, paired with a rear-wheel-drive configuration and a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In a separate development for the Supersports nameplate, Bentley is producing a limited run of 500 rear-wheel-drive Continental models. Starting at $486,200, these vehicles focus on weight reduction and driving purity rather than hybrid assistance. The model features a carbon fiber roof and weighs approximately 4,409 pounds, making it one of the lightest Bentleys produced in recent decades. The powertrain consists of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 657 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.
