Bentley introduces Merino wool for first electric SUV
Bentley is introducing certified Merino wool as a primary interior material for its first electric SUV, the Torcal. This marks a departure from the brand’s traditional reliance on hand-tanned leather in favor of more sustainable, renewable options.
To address the technical challenge of wool’s susceptibility to abrasion in a vehicle cabin, Bentley collaborated with Fox Brothers, a textile manufacturer from Somerset. Together, they developed the first 100% Merino wool automotive fabric specifically engineered to withstand the daily wear and tear of an interior environment.
