Bentley shifts strategy toward hybrid models and luxury retail

Bentley is shifting its strategic direction and retail approach. The company has moved away from its previous 'Beyond 100' plan, which aimed for an all-electric lineup by the end of the decade. Instead, Bentley will continue to develop and offer internal combustion and plug-in hybrid models beyond 2030 to maintain flexibility amid changing market trends and regulations.

To support this, the Crewe factory is being reconfigured to allow electric and plug-in hybrid models to be produced on the same assembly line. This shift follows a slowdown in demand for high-end electric vehicles, which led to the rescheduling of the Torcal, Bentley’s first fully electric model.

Alongside these technical changes, Bentley is redesigning its customer experience. The brand is transforming traditional showrooms into luxury lounge-style environments. The new concept, already being implemented at Jack Barclay Bentley in the UK, replaces traditional receptions with bars and introduces an 'Atelier' where customers can use digital tools and physical samples to customize their vehicles.
