Bentley Unveils First Fully Electric Torcal SUV Ahead of September 2026 Launch

Bentley announced its first 100 % electric model, the Torcal SUV, slated for a full reveal on 23 September 2026 in London. The five‑metre‑long vehicle is expected to deliver more than 300 miles (about 480 km) of range, with a targeted usable range of 480‑560 km depending on the version. Built on the Volkswagen Group’s PPE electric platform, the Torcal will use an 800‑volt system and a roughly 113 kWh battery capable of 390‑400 kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10‑80 % charge in about sixteen minutes. Power output is projected up to roughly 1 156 hp for the top variants.

Inside, a curved central touchscreen sits low on the console, flanked by physical rotary controls and a three‑spoke steering wheel that blends digital displays with tactile buttons. The cabin design mirrors Bentley’s traditional luxury cues while integrating modern digital interfaces, aiming to reassure drivers accustomed to analog controls.

The launch follows Bentley’s decision to shift its full‑electric lineup target from 2030 to 2035 under the Beyond100 Plus strategy, while continuing to sell plug‑in hybrids and combustion models. Market analysts note that ultra‑luxury buyers are now seeking authentic brand language rather than overtly futuristic designs, and Bentley sees the Torcal as a test of demand, especially from wealthy Asian customers, amid a broader slowdown in luxury EV interest across other marques such as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi, Mercedes‑Benz, Porsche and Rolls‑Royce.
