Bentley unveils lightweight Supersports model

Bentley has unveiled the new Supersports, a model designed for agility and weight reduction, making it the lightest Bentley produced in 85 years. To achieve this, engineers removed the hybrid propulsion system and all-wheel drive found in other contemporary models, opting instead for a rear-wheel-drive configuration.

The vehicle is powered by a 657-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. Significant weight savings were also achieved by removing the rear seats—transforming the car into a two-seater—and utilizing carbon fiber for the roof and rear compartments. These changes result in a vehicle that weighs less than 1,999 kilograms, approximately 500 kilograms lighter than the hybrid Continental GT.

Performance enhancements include aerodynamic upgrades such as a deep front splitter and fixed rear spoiler, a wider rear wheel track, and an Akrapovič titanium exhaust. The limited production run of 500 units is already sold out, with pricing starting at $490,350.
