Bentley unveils Torcal, its first fully electric luxury SUV

Bentley has officially unveiled the Torcal, the brand’s first fully electric production model and its fourth distinct model line. Developed and manufactured at the company’s historic headquarters in Crewe, England, the luxury SUV marks a significant shift in Bentley’s electrification strategy, moving away from previous plans to be entirely electric by 2030 in favor of a more flexible approach that includes plug-in hybrids.

The Torcal will be available in two versions: a standard model and a high-performance Torcal S. The standard model delivers approximately 821 hp and 1,194 Nm of torque, while the Torcal S can reach up to 888 hp and 1,350 Nm of torque when Launch Control is activated. Both variants utilize a 113 kWh battery and an 800V architecture, offering a WLTP range of up to 600 km. The vehicle supports 400 kW DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 16 to 20 minutes.

Design-wise, the Torcal introduces a new visual language for the marque, featuring an illuminated diamond-pattern grille and a departure from the traditional round headlights. The interior emphasizes luxury with high-end materials such as leather, wood veneer, and a world-first use of 100% merino wool. The vehicle is built on the Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and is expected to begin production in early 2027, with prices starting around £173,000.
