Bento Gonçalves announces flood mitigation plan for Linha Alcântara

In Bento Gonçalves, Mayor Amarildo Lucatelli has announced a corrective engineering plan to mitigate flood and landslide risks in the Linha Alcântara region. Following devastating floods in 2023 and 2024, the municipal administration is focusing on two primary fronts: implementing engineering solutions for roads and riverbeds and the permanent relocation of families living in high-risk areas identified by civil defense.

As part of immediate actions, the city has performed cleaning services, restored traffic routes, and completed desilting on a section of the Rio Pedrinho to improve water flow. Regarding housing, the municipality has facilitated the resettlement of seven families affected by landslides, with some receiving homes through federal projects.
