Beograd Center for Security Policy postpones Valjevo forum

The Beograd Center for Security Policy (BCBP) announced that it had to postpone a public tribune scheduled for 13 August in Valjevo. The event was intended to mark the anniversary of the police‑brutality incident of 14 August 2025, when dozens of citizens were injured and arrested.

BCBP said that none of the contacted public institutions or private owners were willing to rent a venue, describing the situation as evidence of a lingering climate of fear. The network called on the municipal authorities and private parties to provide a space without political pressure, noting that “the atmosphere of fear that prevailed in the city a year ago has clearly not disappeared.”
