Berane hosts fourth annual Harvest Days to promote northern Montenegro
The fourth annual 'Harvest Days' manifestation was held in the village of Polica near Berane, showcasing local agricultural production, traditions, and craftsmanship. The event gathered producers, exhibitors, and visitors to promote domestic goods such as honey, textiles, and various food products.
Damjan Ćulafić, Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Development, attended the event, noting that the Ministry provided financial support. He emphasized the importance of affirming the economic and natural potential of northern Montenegro to create sustainable opportunities for local citizens.
Regarding infrastructure, Ćulafić addressed water supply challenges in the region. He noted that 360,000 euros had been allocated for a water supply project in Polica, though implementation faced delays due to administrative procedures and technical documentation issues. He also mentioned the ongoing construction of a water supply system in the village of Zagrad.
Berane Municipality President Đole Lutovac highlighted local government efforts to improve rural infrastructure and support farmers through the Agro-budget, which includes measures for livestock breeders, vegetable growers, and beekeepers.
