Regional governments implement new urban and social policies
Various regional and municipal governments are implementing new urban, social, and administrative policies.
In Coahuila, Mexico, legislators have proposed amending the Municipal Code to adopt the Rapid Business Opening System (SARE) across all municipalities to simplify permits and reduce bureaucracy for small and medium enterprises.
In Spain, the Junta de Andalucía has allocated an additional 25 million euros to its housing guarantee program for young people, aiming to reach 80 million euros in total guarantees to facilitate 100% mortgage access.
Urban development projects are also advancing in several cities: Alicante has increased its Virgen del Remedio redevelopment budget to nearly 4 million euros; Valladolid is investing over 21 million euros in water network modernization; and Valencia is reviewing a plan to reorder the Malvarrosa district with more pedestrian zones and residential land.
Additionally, local councils in Berango, Bilbao, and other areas are approving specific infrastructure works, including school playground renovations, community center adaptations, and municipal building repairs following recent weather events.
