Beranselo residents report critical infrastructure failures
Residents of the Beranselo suburb in the Berane municipality are reporting a significant decline in local infrastructure following the reconstruction of the Berane-Bijelo Polje road. According to Slobodan Lončar, president of the Beranselo local community, the roadwork resulted in the removal of street lighting and the elimination of a long-standing bus stop known as ‘Persina stanica’.
Despite promises made two years ago, new lighting and sidewalks have not been installed, which residents claim endangers pedestrian safety. Furthermore, over 300 users remain affected by a sewage issue where the local network is not connected to a nearby wastewater treatment plant built eight years ago. Consequently, sewage continues to flow into a nearby area, prompting residents to call on the Berane municipality to take immediate corrective action.
