Berg en Dalruiters celebrates 80 years of equestrian passion

The Berg en Dalruiters equestrian association in De Lutte is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Founded on February 2, 1946, the group originally consisted of young men riding working farm horses for leisure.

Despite facing challenges, such as a period in the 1960s when only two active members remained, the club has grown to include a pony club and its own riding school, which opened in 1985. Members noted that while rising costs for feed and competition make maintaining a horse-related hobby difficult, the association continues to thrive due to a shared passion for horses.
