Bergamo authorities seize 4,000 unsafe school supplies
The Guardia di Finanza in Bergamo has seized approximately 4,000 school supplies valued at over 9,000 euros. The operation, conducted by the Treviglio company, targeted a retail company with multiple outlets for violations of the Consumer Code.
During inspections in the Bassa pianura bergamasca area ahead of the 2026/27 school year, authorities discovered items including pencil cases, pens, markers, diaries, backpacks, and drawing boards. These products did not meet national or European safety standards and were deemed potentially hazardous to health, particularly for the primary users: children and students.
