Bergamo healthcare focuses on chronic disease patient safety

In observance of World Patient Safety Day, healthcare authorities in Bergamo are highlighting the critical importance of managing patients with chronic conditions. Chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular issues, tumors, and respiratory or neurological disorders, account for approximately 75% of deaths globally.

Efforts are being directed toward reducing systemic risks such as diagnostic delays, therapeutic errors, and fragmented care pathways. ATS Bergamo is implementing various strategies to improve safety, including early oncological screening through its Screening Center and enhanced pharmacovigilance services to ensure high standards of care throughout the patient's journey.
