Bergamo truck driver missing for two days located in Bologna-area hotel

A truck driver from Bergamo who vanished on 27 July while delivering goods in Valsamoggia, near Bologna, was found on the morning of 29 July in a local hotel. The driver, employed by a Bergamo‑based transport firm, was last seen on surveillance footage leaving a bar in front of a Eurospar supermarket on Via Emilia. The company's GPS system logged the truck as stationary at the supermarket parking area on the evening of 28 July, prompting the firm to file a missing‑person report. The driver’s mobile phone, lost after the bar visit, was recovered nearby. Police confirmed the driver was unharmed and had simply checked into the hotel after his vehicle was parked with the windows slightly down.
