Bergara police arrest three for illegal detention and extortion

Police officers from the Ertzaintza arrested three individuals—a 37-year-old woman, a 30-year-old man, and a 31-year-old man—following the illegal detention and extortion of a 33-year-old Spanish man in Bergara.

The victim reported being intercepted in the street and forced to a residence to settle a purported debt. During his detention, the victim had his keys and identification documents seized, and he was subjected to physical aggression. One of the suspects reportedly accompanied the victim to a residence to facilitate a bank payment, though the transaction did not occur.

The victim was found in a disoriented state with a head injury and was transported to the Arrasate Hospital for medical assistance. The woman involved reportedly has five previous arrests and has been under investigation in 43 other instances.
